If you’ve ever visualized yourself crossing the finish line at a Spartan World Championship event, dreaming about the long-awaited realization of months of dedication and hard work, then the Spartan Italy National Series 2027 is your ultimate gateway.

Whether you are an ambitious Age Group contender, a seasoned Elite athlete aiming to claim national glory, or an Open heat racer looking to test your limits alongside Europe's finest, the National Series elevates standard race weekends into high-stakes competitive battles.

Here is everything you need to know about the 2027 Italian lineup, how scoring works, and how your path through Italy can lead you straight to the European and World stages.

What Is a Spartan National Series Event?

Spartan National Series events are designated competitions where we ramp up the course difficulty, and award special-edition Series medals.

For competitive athletes, the National Series provides the primary entry pathway into the international championship ecosystem, offering Regional Championship qualifying slots (elite only) than standard regular-season events. Even if you race strictly in the Open category, these weekends feature an electric atmosphere where you can conquer your own course and then watch the sport’s strongest athletes battle it out head-to-head.

The 2027 Spartan Italy National Series Calendar

To claim the Italian crown in 2027, racers will face a relentless progression across three iconic Italian terrains - spanning the explosive speed of the Super (10K) to the grueling endurance of the Beast (21K).

1. Rome, Orte - Super (April 25, 2027)

The series kicks off in historic Orte. Fast, muddy, and packed with technical terrain, this Super heat demands explosive strength and tactical pacing to set early leaderboard dominance. COMMIT

2. Belluno - Beast (June 26, 2027)

Moving north into the Venetian Prealps, Belluno brings severe elevation changes and brutal mountain trails. This Beast distance will test the lungs and legs of every contender aiming for series points. COMMIT

3. Misano - Beast (September 18, 2027) Series Finale

The Series battle culminates on the Adriatic coast. Misano combines fast coastal stretches with taxing sand and obstacle-heavy sections where the final National Series champions will be crowned. COMMIT

Rules, Points and Mechanics

• Open Access to Start: There are no prior qualification prerequisites to sign up for Elite or Age Group heats in the National Series. Anyone can step up to the starting line.

• The Point System: Racers earn cumulative points across series events based on their finish position in their respective category (Elite or Age Group). The athlete with the highest cumulative point total at the conclusion of the Series will claim the 2027 Italian National Series title.

Out of the 3 total races in the Italian series, your best 2 race results count toward the final Series ranking. This gives you strategic flexibility—if you complete all 3 events, your top 2 performances will automatically be prioritized to maximize your cumulative score.
